Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?
I was born in Orange County CA, moved to Dallas when I was one, spent 12 years there until my mom married my step dad and we moved to Chicago. I then went on to the University of Kentucky for college to pursue a degree in Corporate Communications.

A month after college I moved to New York City to start work for Major League Baseball in their social media department. I’ve been there since (going on three years now) and currently run and manage social sponsorship for the league and 30 club channels.

On the side, I run a fashion and travel blog called Covering the Bases where I’m able to document my everyday fashion, life in the city and travels around the world.

What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?
Outgoing, Sensitive and independent

What Profession other than yours would you love to attempt?
I would love to work in real estate. I have an abnormal obsession with looking at places.

What is your favorite quote?
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

What inspired your blog?
The free time in college was a big factor. But what inspired me to keep it up was the fact that I just genuinely enjoy creating content and sharing my passion online!

What is your favorite social media platform and why?
I love Instagram (I mean who doesn’t) but I love it for the explore page. I could spend hours on there just looking at everyone’s photos and videos.

Where do you find inspiration for blog posts?
From my daily life. I always try and keep content relevant and related to my day to day routine. I think that’s what makes the content real and I think that’s what people like.

What do you think it is about your blog that keeps people coming back for more?
I think the realness of it all. I always get a lot of emails and comments from readers telling me how much they appreciate me being authentic and myself. When I write a post, I want it to sound like I’m talking to a girlfriend that I’ve known for years.

How does a brand get your attention for a feature?
I always value when they’ve done their research and tailor a pitch to fit myself and the blog. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve had brands reach out to work together on something that has nothing to do with who I am!

What do you love most about blogging?
The friends I’ve made. Didn’t know that this would be the biggest perk of blogging — some of my very best friends are also fellow bloggers/vloggers.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Let’s see, I’ll be 34 and hopefully somewhere in CT with a house that has a navy blue kitchen and a really cool front door. I wouldn’t hate it if I had a new pup running around or maybe some kids. I hope to still be working in a career I love. As for the blog, that’s kind of up in the air! I don’t know if I could juggle a full time job, a blog and being a parent. Time can only tell!

In your opinion, what separates a great blog from an unsuccessful blog? Quality of content. There are so many blogs out there you want to make sure that you are promoting your very best stuff and showing the world what you’re about.
