Can you tell us a bit about you and your background?
I’m a southern California girl, born and raised. Upon graduating from the University of San Diego with a degree in Communications, I moved to Los Angeles, where I’ve worked in a variety of jobs, including human resources, event planning, hospitality, and influencer marketing. It was through my experience working for an e-commerce fashion company that I was introduced to the world of blogging, and I haven’t looked back since!

What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?
Genuine, friendly, sensible.

If you weren’t a blogger, what would you be doing?
I would be working on the other side of the influencer marketing industry for a brand or agency, or doing something that allows me to use those skills I’ve honed through blogging, like social media management or freelance photography.

What inspired your blog?
I’ve always been passionate about fashion, food, travel, entertaining, and photography, and was really craving a community with whom I could share those interests. I was thrilled to discover blogging because it felt like I had suddenly entered a world of like-minded women who I felt instantly connected to. Additionally, I’ve always been fascinated with the business side of blogging and influencer marketing, so I started my blog as a way to gain experience and deepen my knowledge about the industry. I wanted to know what was going on behind the scenes, and figured there was no better way to gain first-hand experience than to live and breathe it every day through running my own blog.

What is your favorite social media platform and why?
This is definitely a toss up between Snapchat and Instagram, but I’m going to have to go with Instagram on this one. I love the candid, ephemeral nature of Snapchat, but I’ll always gravitate toward beautiful imagery. The photography bar has been set so high over the past few years, so it’s inspiring to watch everybody challenge themselves to take their images to that next level, whether it be through styling, filtering, composition, etc. There’s so much more to planning an Instagram feed than most people realize.

What do you think it is about your blog that keeps people coming back for more?
Please let me know if you have the answer! I like to think that my readers find both my content and me relatable. I always aim to create content that’s attainable, but inspiring – something that can be easily recreated, whether it be a recipe or an outfit.

What do you love most about blogging?
I love that blogging allows me to use my creative side, while also exercising a more strategic, analytical side. It’s a really interesting blend of psychology, strategy and creativity, and I love the process of bringing a product, outfit or recipe to life through creative imagery and storytelling. I also love the community aspect. Being able to connect with others from all over the world and share content that I’m passionate about is the icing on the cake.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Oh, that’s a tough question. This industry continues to evolve so quickly, so it’s hard to say where I’ll be professionally, but I hope to be working in a creative industry here in Los Angeles, with a beautiful Spanish style house, a husband, and maybe a few kids to come home to!

What are 3 things you can’t live without?
Family, music and moisturizing (I never leave the house without lip balm and hand lotion in tow).

If you could spend an entire day with one person, who would it be and what would you do?
If we’re sticking with the topic of blogging, I’d have to say Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere. Cupcakes and Cashmere was the first blog I stumbled upon and I’m so impressed with Emily’s ability to parlay her brand into a series of books, a clothing line and now a home decor line. Plus, she’s got great taste in food and isn’t afraid to indulge, so I’d love to restaurant hop around LA with her (I’ve actually met her twice and she’s just as grounded and charming in person)!
