Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?
Where to start, well – I come from the UK, (so excuse my English spelling) although I have not lived there since the age of 21. I spent 3 years living in Dubai working as an air stewardess traveling and being inspired by the world. I then finally decided to set up camp in Sydney with it being my favourite city. I love to have a simple life enjoying all the little things that really count. My style is bohemian and I’m obsessed with wearing the colour white!
What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?
Happy and humble.
What Profession other than yours would you love to attempt?
I would be happy with any profession which allowed me to travel and be creative.
What is your favorite quote?
There are too many, my top two have to be – ‘I always find beauty in things that are odd and imperfect – they are much more interesting’ and ‘there is beauty in simplicity’.
What inspired Chasing Chelsey?
Originally my travels and love for beautiful bohemian clothing, now I also like to share how pleasurable a simple life can be.
What is your favorite social media platform and why?
Instagram, 1 million percent. I love sharing fashion, travel and life inspiration. I can’t tell you how many of my now favourite designers I’ve found through Instagram.
Where do you find inspiration for blog posts?
Usually on my travels, this shower of inspiration always comes to me when I’m about to set out on a new adventure. Other times it could be when I’m in a peaceful situation like have a read in a café or traveling on a long train journey.
What do you think it is about Chasing Chelsey that keeps people coming back for more?
Sticking to my style and what I like, only posting when I feel I have something worthwhile to share. I like to show a lot of my personality in posts which I think people like. I’m also a big traveller and like to inspire others with beautiful places to discover.
How does a brand get your attention for a feature?
So far I’ve been lucky enough to work with some of my favourite brands, but so long as the company means well, I am found of it and believe it would be of interest to my followers I’d always like to give a helping hand if I could.
What do you love most about blogging?
I can call online shopping ‘work’ of course, something I’ve always loved doing! Finding new outfits and brands then styling them for myself to wear, what is not to love!! This along with being in a position to inspire others, I really want to show how to live a magical yet simple life.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Relaxing in Mexico, with a margarita in hand (I hope). No, really, working Free Lance for sure. Being able to pick what city I spend the month and always being in the sunshine. I wish for Sydney to always be my base but no more winter’s here, please!
In your opinion, what separates a great blog from an unsuccessful blog?
I think showing your personality is a big one, alongside good consistent content of course. Staying true to your style and being the best person you can possibly be – yourself!
