Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?
I’m from Chicago, and have been living in New York City for over 2 years. My day job is an attorney, and my fun job is the blog! I love having Wanderlust in the City as a creative way to express myself, and share my experiences.

What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?
Adventurous, reflective and curious.

What Profession other than yours would you love to attempt?
I think Secretary of State sounds fun!

What is your favorite quote?
Do one thing every day that scares you. Also, a girl should be two things: classy and fabulous. I know they’re both cliché, but I love them!

What inspired your blog?
There have been several blogs that I enjoyed following, and eventually I realized, “I can do that too!”

What is your favorite social media platform and why?
I prefer Twitter. It allows you to interact with people that you wouldn’t ordinarily be able to. My blog posts have been retweeted by celebrities and major brands, and this allows them to reach an even larger audience.

Where do you find inspiration for blog posts?
Everything I do, I do for the blog! I include places I’ve eaten, fun activities, travel experiences, etc. I don’t know if my life would be quite as fabulous if I didn’t have Wanderlust in the City!

What do you think it is about your blog that keeps people coming back for more?
I think I share fun, unique New York activities that people may not have aware of. So even someone who has lived in NYC much longer than I have can hear about a new event or experience on Wanderlust in the City.

How does a brand get your attention for a feature?
Emails are key. I pay attention to the ones that address me by name, are friendly, and reference past posts. I appreciate anything that indicates that the person has read my blog and has a real interest. “Dear   ,” emails without a name will almost always be overlooked.

What do you love most about blogging?
I love having a journal of my life, especially my travels. Also, the blog has opened the door to new experiences that I wouldn’t have otherwise been part of.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Running a successful blog full time, traveling more, and perhaps even Secretary of State!

In your opinion, what separates a great blog from an unsuccessful blog?
Dedication is so important. Some blogs start strong and fizzle out. Plus, blogs should be very visual. I love looking at quality photographs, and feel like they can tell the story better than any words.
