What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?
Fresh, Timeless, Flirty
What Profession other than yours would you love to attempt?
I used to be a competitive dancer, with a focus in contemporary, jazz, and hip-
hop styles. I almost pursued it as a career but decided to keep it as a hobby. I
still take classes here in San Francisco.
What is your favorite quote?
“If it doesn’t scare you, you’re probably not dreaming big enough.”
– Tory Burch
I love this quote because it reminds me when things are hard and scary, that the
struggle is worth it. When I accomplish something, and I get comfortable, that’s
when I know that am ready for a new challenge. I have become addicted to the
thrill of the fear!
What inspired your blog?
As a designer, I look to blogs to gain insight on trends before they become
mainstream. I was having a hard time finding a blog style and personality that I
could resonate with. The bloggers were either too modern, too traditional or
strictly diy, and the voice was of someone that I couldn’t relate to like a stay at
home mom or a decorator without a design degree. I started my blog to define
my style and find my voice and personal brand.
What is your favorite social media platform and why?
Instagram! I am a very visual person, and I have found that photography inspires
me the most. It’s also a great place to connect with other like-minded creatives,
discover new designers, and even friends! I love that it is has become a platform
for both professional use and personal use.
Where do you find inspiration for blog posts?
When I am working on a design project or shopping for an outfit for a particular
event, I often learn about new trends, product or brand that I think my audience
would appreciate. I am always trying to be as informative as possible, and I
believe that every post should have a purpose.
What do you think it is about your blog that keeps people coming back for more?
My style and voice are unique, and my blog posts cover a broad range of topics.
From interior and fashion to travel and tech, there is something for everyone. I
think that people also enjoy getting a sense of what an entrepreneur, designer,
and bloggers life is like.
How does a brand get your attention for a feature?
I like to work with brands that I regularly use for personal and professional use, or
new brands that are working to solve some sort of problem in the design industry.
What do you love most about blogging?
I love educating my audience and sharing my experiences with others. I think
there is a lot of value in speaking your mind and voicing your opinions, especially
as a female.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I would love to continue blogging and building out my style in collaboration with
my favorite brands, but I see a much bigger future for myself as an entrepreneur
and innovator. I want to continue designing and shake up the industry, working to
redefine the cost, availability and efficiency of designer services. I also see
myself behind the camera and would love to be able to share my design lifestyle
to the masses via television. I love being an entrepreneur and a design influence
so as long as I am still both in ten years I will be happy!
It’s easy to mimic someone’s style and create a good looking blog, but the only
way to stand out is to be original, different and take risks. You only get one you,
so don’t spend your life trying to be someone else. Everyone is flawed, and no
one is perfect so just be yourself. You will be surprised with how fast people will
fall in love with you. 🙂
