Hurricane Harvey has wreaked havoc on Houston, Texas these past few days leaving many displaced, injured and with nothing but the clothes on their backs. While many of us may not physically be there, we must all reach out a helping hand to those affected by this tragic natural disaster.
Below are a few organizations that are doing vital work on the homefront to ensure the safety and wellbeing of as many people and animals as they can.
Greater Houston Community Foundation: Houston’s Mayor, Sylvester Turner, has launched the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund in hopes to raise money for those that have been affected the floods. All donations are tax deductible.
GoFundMe: With an entire page dedicated to helping Hurricane Harvey victims, GoFundMe offers a plethora of different relief funds one can donate to. From donating to the Harvey Disaster Animal Fund to Harmony is for the Community Fund,one of the many school districts, anything helps the people and animals affected by this natural disaster.
United Way of Greater Houston: In response to the devastation of Hurricane Harvey, the United Way of Greater Houston has built a United Way Relief Fund, with 100% of the donations going directly towards helping rebuild the many communities and counties that were greatly affected by Hurricane Harvey.
