Who or what inspires you? I am most inspired when someone doubts me. Doubt inspires me to overcome challenges and accomplish difficult tasks. When people tell me “you can’t,” I am most inspired to prove them wrong and show them that I can achieve anything I set my mind to.
If you could spend a day in someone else’s shoes, who would it be? Why? Mindy Kaling. She isn’t afraid to be herself, and she owns who she is and where she came from. Who or what inspires you? My friends inspire me! Being able to see them do the things they love and achieve their dreams is something that motivates me to pursue my own dreams, no matter how far away they may seem.
If you could spend a day in someone else’s shoes, who would it be? Why? I would spend a day in an influencer’s shoes. What are you most looking forward to for this internship? I’m so excited to be working in an agency setting and getting to work with multiple clients at a time. I’ve never worked with multiple accounts before, so I’m looking forward to working on a variety of tasks and to develop my public relations skill set.
Nicole
Hometown: Petaluma, California
College: University of California, Los Angeles
3 Words to Describe You: Ambitious, adventurous, easy-going
Coffee Order: Everybody hates me for this – I don’t like coffee. But I’m obsessed with iced chai tea lattes with oat milk!
Most-Used Emoji: 😭<— This crying one, which I use it as a substitute for the crying laughing face (not really sure why). I’m also a big fan of 🙄.

Who or what inspires you?My mom remains to this day my biggest inspiration, always. She has selflessly done everything for me and my brother, and I only hope one day I can be as great of a mother as she is!
If you could spend a day in someone else’s shoes, who would it be? Why? Emma Watson, 1000%. Not only were the Harry Potter movies some of my favorites growing up, but she is the textbook definition of everything I aspire to be. I truly admire the way the focus of her career has pivoted from actress to activist, and her work fighting for gender equality has undoubtedly made enormous strides. Seeing a day in her life to me would be unmatched by anything else.
What’s one thing about you that surprises people? I’ve been taking French classes for the past 9 years (since 7th grade) and am pursuing a minor in the language at UCLA! France and French culture has fascinated me ever since I was little, so I originally chose to study the language as a means of fulfilling my high school graduation requirements. Now in college, I want to pursue a career in the beauty/cosmetics space, and French would definitely be an asset if I were to work in that industry one day — still not quite fluent, but getting pretty close!
Top 3 things on your bucket list:
1. Spend six months living in Europe. I was supposed to a study abroad program in Paris this past fall, but obviously that couldn’t happen with COVID-19. Europe is first on my list of places to go once I graduate, and I plan to hopefully live over there for a short period!
2. Learn to surf! Living in Los Angeles, I’m not sure why I haven’t figured it out yet.
3. Skiing in the French alps. I love skiing, and there’s just no better place in the world to do it.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given? It wasn’t exactly advice, but I came across this quote by Maya Angelou in early high school and it has resonated with me ever since: “Nothing will work unless you do.” I write that quote on everything as my gentle reminder to never let the feeling of being burnt out allow me to sacrifice my larger goals.
What are you most looking forward to for this internship? I’m most looking forward to gaining a bit more insight into the corporate world of public relations and marketing, especially in the beauty, lifestyle, and wellness spaces. As a college student, the opportunity to be working with clients firsthand is invaluable, and I’m so excited to just soak up as much knowledge at BLND as possible!
