Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?
Hi! My name is Laura Mueseler and I write the blog, Sequins at Breakfast. I have loved everything fashion related from a young age and have always found it the best way to express myself. I studied Fashion Merchandising in college and then worked for various luxury eyewear brands before staring Sequins at Breakfast where I now document my personal style, favorite recipes and all things that inspire me.
What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?
Fun, Creative, Perfectionist
What Profession other than yours would you love to attempt?
What is your favorite quote?
“The best things in life aren’t things” Art Buchwald
What inspired your blog?
I wanted to create a place to share what inspires me, from food to fashion and everything in between, and Sequins at Breakfast was born!
Where do you find inspiration for blog posts?
Everywhere. I just recently relocated to Hawaii so a lot of my inspiration now comes from “Island Life”. Basically everything from the vibrant colors of the flowers to the ocean and definitely the warm climate! I’m pretty much diving into more of a summer style year round!
What do you think it is about your blog that keeps people coming back for more?
I have made a huge effort to take the best pictures that I possibly can and I think that makes a huge difference. I’d also like to think my readers keep coming back because my posts inspire them!
What do you love most about blogging?
I’m a creative person so I love that blogging gives me that outlet. Its great in that it keeps me current as well as challenges me to try new things. I love food and cooking so sharing my recipes is one of my favorite things and I love knowing that people are cooking my recipes! It’s also really great that it’s something that I can do from anywhere, which makes picking up and moving to Hawaii a little less stressful!
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Honestly, I have no idea! If you would have asked me 10 years ago if I’d be writing a blog, I would have said “I don’t even know what that is!”. That’s the beauty of it I guess!
In your opinion, what separates a great blog from an unsuccessful blog?
Staying true to yourself and your brand. Also, pictures, pictures, pictures! People are visual and if anything they want to look at beautiful pictures for their own inspiration.
