When life throws mistakes at us and moments of “I should have not done that” sure it can be a learning lesson, but most of the time if you can go back you would change what you have done. Luckily, in the email world, gmail has already thought of that. Gmail is one of the most advanced and powerful technology tools in the business sector and they thought a bit ahead to save us. If you do not already know, Gmail created an undo button for life’s minute mistakes and apprehensive emails.
According to Gmail’s settings, “If you make a typo or regret sending a message, you can undo the action by enabling “Undo send.” This setting gives you the option to take back a message you just sent.
To enable Undo Send:
-Click the gear in the top right .
-Select Settings.
-Scroll down to “Undo Send” and click Enable.
-Set the cancellation period (the amount of time you have to decide if you want to unsend an email).
-Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
If you had Undo Send turned on in Gmail Labs, your Undo Send setting will be on by default.”
Although this is heaven sent, gmail delays sending your message by a couple of seconds. So if you do not click the undo button within a specific time limit it will not work. Theres no REAL undo button that will guarantee a change of your mistake, so you have to be conscious of the repercussions, but Gmail’s undo button will definitely suffice for now!
