The three social media giants Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook will not stop rolling out new features and updates. But don’t worry! We’ve got you covered with handy guides to these new updates and reviews about how you should be using them. Check out our latest blog highlighting new Snapchat features here. With Instagram’s introduction of its new ‘archive’ feature, we have listed three main reasons why this is one of the most useful features yet!
Edit Photos – We understand the struggle after you post a photo and then spend the next 5 minutes panicking about whether you’ve chosen the correct filter. If you need some more time to ponder about anything from filters to hashtags to captions, feel free to temporarily archive your photo. Do this by clicking the 3 little dots on the top right and selecting the first option – archive! By archiving your photo, you can see how the square crops your image as well as decide your captions before officially sending it live. Once you are done, head over to the archived folder, tap the 3 dots, and select “Show on Profile” to have it return to your profile for public view.
Hide Photos – We know the feeling when you scroll back weeks and months into your old feed and realize that wow, that photo you took wasn’t even straightened and it also no longer matches your current theme. Instead of straight up deleting the photo from your Instagram, you can now archive it so that it is in its special little folder that is only visible to you. Keep those memories even if the images no longer match your liking or if there weren’t as many likes. If one day you decide that you want those archived photos to return to your feed, you will be able to do so in a click of a button. The photos will come back in chronological order.
Private Gallery – Instagram has always been a pretty public platform, even if your profile is set to private. This new archive function allows you to save photos to a private feed or gallery in order for you to choose which photos to publish or keep for yourself. If you need, you can even archive your entire feed in order to take a temporary break from Instagram.
We understand how important it is to have a beautiful feed nowadays. Thanks to Instagram’s new update, we will no longer have to hectically delete photos and rearrange feeds in order to create the most perfect Instagram. Happy archiving!
