Every Monday we bring you a blogger feature on a talented individual who inspires us. This week we are featuring the personable Amity + Mioara of Cream & Sugar, Please. This adorable duo met through Twitter, and has been producing stylish and interesting work for us to read ever since. The perfect combination of young and vivacious, fun, and knowledgable in all things girly.
We’re both social media and fashion junkies, so it only made sense for us to start a lifestyle blog together. In fact, we met on Twitter and a few RTs, mentions, and replies later, we were sipping on lattes, laughing about our unique names, and obsessing over fall ’13 color palettes. It was obvious that we needed to collaborate on a project and hence “Cream & Sugar, Please” was born to share all things women discuss over coffee – fashion, beauty, food, inspiration, travel & more.
What 3 words would you use to describe yourselves?
Cheerful, Quirky, Energetic
What Profession other than yours would you love to attempt?
Amity: Screenwriter. I’ve always been a writer but I think it would be a different type of challenge to develop characters and storylines and push myself to think outside my own parameters and create fiction.
Mioara: Interior Designer. I’ve always been obsessed with how to present my living quarters. I love combining personality with my living space as well as experiment with different colors based on my current mood. I probably rearrange my furniture and switch up colors every four months or so!
What is your favorite quote?
“The harder I work, the luckier I get.” — Samuel Goldwyn
Coffee! We’re both avid coffee drinkers who love experimenting with different kinds. We even met over coffee so it was only natural! We’re both really passionate about a lot of different topics thus, life + style.
What is your favorite social media platform and why?
Instagram –We love how easy it is to connect with people visually. We have a lot of fun coming up with concepts and presenting things based on our taste/style. Instagram seems to be the best way to in network those images and bring in more of the type of readers we are looking for.
Where do you find inspiration for blog posts?
Honestly, everywhere! From our homes, to our closets, to the foods we eat and the people we meet. That’s why we wanted to keep our topics open ended. “Anything discussed over coffee…” We have so much to share and so many interests we couldn’t narrow it down!
What do you think it is about your blog that keeps people coming back for more?
We like to think we do a pretty good job of showcasing our personalities through the blog by using fresh content and clean photography. By being relatable and genuine, we’re able to continue growing our loyal readership. And it’s a two way street! We always try to address topics readers ask about as well.
How does a brand get your attention for a feature?
Email is the best way to reach us. That way we’re not restricted to a character count and can be more personal with who we’re speaking to.
We love the freedom to express ourselves. We’re constantly evolving and exploring our individual styles has been quite the adventure! Blogging has also opened so many doors for us. For example last spring we attended the LuckyFABB conference in LA where we got to meet Sophia Amoruso, Nicole Richie and Coco Rocha. And just recently we were in New York for Fashion Week where we attended many great shows and got to interview the designers. It was a surreal experience!
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Fingers crossed we’re full-time bloggers!
In your opinion, what separates a great blog from an unsuccessful blog?
We believe in being passionate, hard working, and staying true to yourself. If you don’t have that, it would be very difficult to keep up with the blog or go anywhere with it. Perseverance is a must!
