Another week means another change in the social media world. While Snapchatting recently, you may have accidentally slid your thumb up and noticed something called Snapchat Memories. Yes, usually these updates are irrelevant to most; however, this update is actually something you probably will want to pay attention to.
What are Memories?
Memories are essentially a built-in camera roll for Snapchat. When you take a Snapchat, you can now save it to your Snapchat Memories, and keep all of your taken snaps in an organized place. If you lose your phone, it is not a problem because you can sign into Snapchat from a new phone and all of your photos saved to Memories will still be in tact.
Memories are organized. Snaps you save can either be for everyone to see, or for your eyes only. It is all up to you. With Snapchat Memories, you can also now send Snapchats of photos from your camera roll, to friends.
What does this mean for Snapchat?
Snapchat has been straying away from its original disappearing interface, in recent years. This is growing Snapchat’s brand to include luddites and traditionalists of all sorts. Snapchat Memories are just one more excuse to give Snapchat some PR and convince holdouts to finally want to find out what all of this hype is about.
