Social Girl Traveler

Meet Jen of The Social Girl Traveler! Jen quit her New York corporate life and decided to grab her backpack and start traveling around the world. Why we love Jen even more is she believes in giving back while she travels, carrying water filters (From Waves For Water) with her wherever she goes. As of now she’s visited 33 countries, 6 continents and has shared 16 water filters! If you haven’t already, we highly suggest you check out her latest YouTube video here! And to go along on her upcoming adventures,  follow her on Instagram

What’s your favorite place you’ve traveled to and why? One of my favorite places that I’ve traveled to is Bali. The culture and the people are so beautiful. I truly had one of the best experiences in Bali. One of my favorite places that I’ve lived in is Australia. I love Australia. It’s the the way of life and people are just so different from the US and really any other part of the world. (Plus, it’s always a plus when the majority of the people in Australia are just good looking. Hahah)

What is your best piece of advice on the first step inspiring travel bloggers should take? Don’t over think it. If you overthink it you won’t actually do anything. It doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to get done!

What are 3 things you can’t live without? My phone, passport and laptop. lol- so sad but true. Essentially I can continue to do what I love, I really only need those three things. Haha

What do you think it is about your blog that makes it stand out among other travel blogs? Good question. I think it’s my personality. The way I inspiring my audience differently than a travel blogger who’s a luxury travel writer. I travel and have a great time visiting countries, etc. But I also give back a long the way and it’s a great way for me to exactly EXPERIENCE a culture versus just passing through.

Do you have a quote or mantra you live by – if so what is it? Two: ” It is what it is. Life is bitter sweet” and “Never half ass anything, use your whole ass. Experience it all, the good and bad.”

What is your biggest and/or most important travel tip? Use your common sense and listen to your intuition, Ladies!

Which do you prefer Instagram stories or Vlogs? Why? Instagram stories is great way for me to get new followers for my vlogs. It’s def a great tool to show case my personality and connect with my audience in a ‘real time’ setting. But vlogs allow you to express yourself more.

What inspired you to start your travel vlog? I like being in front of the camera and I do feel I can express myself more!

What is your dream brand that you would love to work with? Mmmm That is a great one! I have two, either GoPro or Sony but would love to work with a Brand who represents women entrepreneurs. I love women empowerment and I think so many women from all over the world have amazing idea, but their insecurities stop them from moving forward or even starting something. I wish their was a brand truly inspired women to ‘MOVE’ to grow the confidence they need to do the things they love. – I think we as women undervalue ourselves so much.

What do you have planned for your next adventure? My next adventure is next week (April 6th) to Guatemala!  I am building homes and bring over 4 clean water filters (each filter provides clean water for 100 people for up to 5 years). I am going with a company called Journey. I can’t wait!
