Every Monday we bring you a new blogger who inspires us. This week we are featuring Jessi from The Darling Detail. Her Southern Charm, chic style and world travels delight us every time she updates us with a new adventure. It really is all in the detail.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?
I’m a recent grad from the University of Texas, where I studied retail merchandising and business. I spent the last four years working for jewelry designer Kendra Scott, and now I work for lifestyle blogger Camille Styles and Austin handbag designer Kelly Wynne. I’m a fashion and inspiration blogger, a writer, and a photographer. In other words—I like to keep myself busy!
What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?
Ambitious. Perfectionist. Determined.
What Profession other than yours would you love to attempt?
A travel writer—did I make that profession up? Anyways, I’d love to see the world, and then be able to share it with others through pictures and words.
What is your favorite quote?
It switches every week, but right now it’s “Work until you no longer have to introduce yourself.” You can check out the rest of my favorite quotes here.
What inspired your blog?
Pinterest. I found the overload of inspiration so overwhelming, I couldn’t wait to create content of my own.
What is your favorite social media platform and why?
Instagram. I’m an extremely visual person!
Where do you find inspiration for blog posts?
All over my hometown–Austin, TX. Austin is such a creative, artistic, and unique city. There is inspiration everywhere you turn. I love turning Austin into the backdrop of something beautiful.
What do you think it is about your blog that keeps people coming back for more?
I strive to keep The Darling Detail very attainable to my readers (you won’t find a trendy Celine bag on this blog!). I also love to write and have a voice behind the clothes and all those posed photos. I want people to know The Darling Detail is 100% from the heart, extremely real, and very “darling” to me.
How does a brand get your attention for a feature?
Email is a blogger’s best friend.
What do you love most about blogging?
After starting my blog a year and a half ago, I’ve had countless job offers, made so many new friends and contacts around the world, and found a passion and creative outlet that I absolutely adore.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I have absolutely no idea and that’s the most exciting part about it all. The possibilities are endless when you love what you do.
In your opinion, what separates a great blog from an unsuccessful blog?
I’m a firm believer that the key to success in blogging is staying true to yourself. It’s easy to get caught up in what everyone else is doing—and the comparison game never results in success. Be you and the success will follow.
