Public Relations Events to Attend in 2019

At BLND PR, a lifestyle public relations agency located in sunny California, we like to keep on top of our PR game by attending relevant industry events. 2018 is quickly coming to an end! We’ve highlighted the most important public relations events you should keep an eye out for in the new year.
Starting from a global scale, Holmes Report puts on their annual Global PR Summit, a 3-day conference centered around global communications, in October. This summit is perfect for senior practitioners and professionals in the field to network and exchange ideas. Martin Baron, Executive Editor of The Washington Post as well as Richard Edelman, President and CEO of Edelman attended this year’s event.
The Public Relations Society of America holds their annual marketing and digital communications conference in December of each year. Because it reaches industries beyond public relations, the PRSA brings together creative individuals to immerse in integrated marketing communications. Many different communications branches intersect with each other. These include digital, traditional and social. It’s important for experts to work with each other to highlight best practices and share common tools.
The Public Relations Student Society of America holds this event annually. It is intended for public relations students. This National Conference is one of the largest gatherings of public relations students in the nation. The event, held in October, offers various workshops to sharpen PR skills as well as networking opportunities with both professionals and peers in the industry.
Entering its 20th year, PRWeek is celebrating their annual awards in March. This event is one that you cannot miss because it is one of the Public Relations industry’s highest accolade. The best corporate, agency, nonprofit, and education teams are announced each year with only 41 trophies across all fields. The ceremony will be on March 21, 2019, at Cipriani Wall Street in New York.
Lastly, University of Southern California launches their annual revision of their Relevance Report in November each year. First, this report highlights industry trends and important issues in the past year. Second, it also forecasts topics for the coming year, which is extremely important for different industries including businesses, organizations and more. Key leaders in the industry of public relations put this report together. This includes communication leaders from Best Buy, eBay, Hyundai, Nintendo and Sprint.
